Lower Secondary

👥 Ages 11-14

In the Lower Secondary stage, students at TIPS move into a more specialized and exploratory phase of learning, typically between the ages of 11 and 14. The curriculum deepens students’ understanding across core subjects while also encouraging the development of independent thinking, collaboration, and global awareness.

This stage introduces learners to more complex concepts in English, Mathematics, Science, and Spanish, while also fostering personal growth through subjects such as Wellbeing, Creative Arts, and Digital Literacy. Teachers use ongoing assessments and Cambridge’s structured feedback tools to monitor progress and guide individual learning paths.

At TIPS, this stage plays a critical role in preparing students for the academic challenges and personal responsibilities of Upper Secondary, while cultivating the confidence and curiosity needed for lifelong learning.

• A balanced, adaptable curriculum, empowering TIPS to reflect local context and student needs

• Assessments throughout the school year to help identify strengths and opportunities for growth

• A focus on creativity, expression, personal wellbeing, and critical thinking
